CH 120 - Chemistry Class Hour(s) 2 Laboratory Hour(s) 2 3 Semester Credit Hour(s)
This course introduces the fundamental principles of chemistry with emphasis on concepts and applications relevant to engineering and technology disciplines. The course develops an understanding of the relationships between atomic and molecular structure, chemical reactions, energy changes, and the physical and chemical behavior of matter. Quantitative problem solving and analytical reasoning are emphasized to help students apply chemical principles to technological and engineering contexts. Laboratory simulations complement the lecture material and provide practical experience in chemical measurements, experimental techniques, and scientific data analysis. Through these simulations, students develop skills in observation, experimentation, and interpretation of results, strengthening their ability to apply scientific reasoning to real-world problems.
Prerequisite(s): MA 112 or MA 114
