The Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics is a 121-credit undergraduate program that prepares students for technical and operational careers in aviation. The program includes coursework in aeronautics, air traffic control systems, safety and accident investigation, electronics, programming, uncrewed systems, and aviation law. Students complete a two-course senior capstone focused on applied aviation challenges or system-level integration projects.
Program Educational Objectives
Graduates of the B.S. in Aeronautics program will be able to:
- Enter careers in aviation systems, airline operations, air traffic control, or UAS-related fields.
- Apply aviation principles, safety practices, and systems knowledge to support the design, operation, or regulation of aircraft and aviation infrastructure.
- Demonstrate ethical leadership, teamwork, and effective communication in aviation or government organizations.
- Pursue professional certifications, lifelong learning, or graduate study in aviation science, aerospace management, or related disciplines.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon graduation, students will be able to:
- Identify and solve technical and operational problems in aviation using appropriate scientific, mathematical, and engineering methods.
- Apply aviation safety, regulatory knowledge, and systems thinking to develop or assess operational procedures.
