This is a survey course that is designed to give students an overview of diversity in literature and its effect on social trend and culture traditions during the 20th century and beyond. Students will read and research literature from minority U.S. authors and how their writings affected both their respective minority communities as well as the culture & society as a whole. Students will be required to read assigned books, make an oral presentation and conduct research dealing with a diverse author and their literature.
