The course will cover an introduction to the Mandarin Chinese language, basic grammar, Pinyin system, vocabulary, usage, and the Chinese writing system. It will also develop an understanding of modern China and knowledge of the Chinese culture. There will be significant practice in pronunciation, conversations, listening comprehension, sentence structures, and writing during class.
