AE 361 - Remote Sensing

This is an introductory remote sensing and sensor course with a focus on methods, instruments and techniques used to obtain satellite imagery. Students will be introduced to physical principles of remote sensing, Earth and other planetary observing systems and sensors, and various digital processing techniques related to satellite sensing imagery. Topics include optics, solar radiation, principles of satellite imaging, image quality analysis, introduction to charged coupled devices (CCDs), and basics of sensor design. Offered Spring semester only. Offered Spring semester only.
