Location

Laurel Campus

Capitol Technology University spans more than 50 acres in Laurel, Maryland, ideally positioned between Washington, D.C., and Baltimore and at the heart of one of the nation’s most active technology corridors.

Just off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, the campus is minutes from world-class research and national security organizations, including NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s laboratory headquarters, the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, and Fort Meade, home to the National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S. Cyber Command. This proximity helps create outstanding opportunities for internships, collaborations, and career connections.

Set in a lush suburban setting with a small pond and wooded views, Capitol Tech pairs a welcoming campus feel with modern, high-tech learning spaces. The sleek white central buildings are connected by glass-enclosed pedestrian walkways, and interiors feature high ceilings, skylights, and reflective glass walls that bring in natural light.

The William G. McGowan Academic Center includes interactive classrooms and specialized academic centers such as the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Analysis, the Space Operations Institute, a Security Operations Center, the Aviation Center, and the Space Flight Operations Training Center. Students gain hands-on experience in dedicated labs including the Cyber Lab, Fusion Lab, Identity Credentialing and Access Management (ICAM) Lab, Space Flight Operations Lab, Aviation Lab, and Quantum Computing Lab.

Nearby, the main administrative and academic building brings key offices and student support services together for easy access, and it includes eight interactive classrooms, the John G. and Beverly A. Puente Library, and the Gudelsky Auditorium. A complete renovation and modernization completed in 2026 added four state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, including the new Artificial Intelligence Center, an Aviation Lab with two full-motion flight simulators, an Engineering Lab, and an upgraded Cyber Lab.

On-campus housing is available in Innovator’s Hall, a four-story, apartment-style residence hall built in 2017 that accommodates up to 220 students, steps from classrooms, labs, and campus life.
